The Origin of EXISTHÉ
Our project was born from a deep conviction: that of making a lasting and meaningful difference. We observed, in the heart of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, a dire lack of places open early in the morning, accessible to all. The idea for EXISTHÉ then germinated: merging the culture of the literary café with the vital necessity of mutual aid.
The Turning Point
EXISTHÉ was created following a realization: for the most vulnerable individuals, access to a warm, nutritious meal available early in the day was a dire gap. We saw this lack of morning services as an emergency. Beyond the food need, we wanted to create a space where dignity is not bought, but lived, and where culture becomes an essential tool for recovery and appeasement.
